Those are neat. Google Voice is also out there, a must have if you use that service!

Re: I have entered the deep, dark world…

Jailbreak Apps: Backgrounder, SBSettings, Kirkae, Categories, Veency

App Store:Fuze Messenger, Kindle, Air Sharing, Skype, Tweetie 2

Re: I have entered the deep, dark world…

Jailbreaking has been the best thing I have done to customize my iPhone.

The jailbreak apps I have are SBSettings, BossPaper, mQuickDo, OpenSSH, Five Icon Dock, StatusNotifier, Mobile Terminal, Backgrounder, Lock Calendar, and Winterboard.

I wonder what Apple will release in the next OS release that could sway me from this sweet setup.

Re: I have entered the deep, dark world…

Entered the dark world, I like that. When I got my iPhone, I would always say "I'm going straight to hell" lol.

Anyway, for must have apps:

1) If you use youtube intensely on 3G but don't like the 3G quality, install 3G unrestrictor, which will make youtube (and other 3G restricting apps think their on wifi, so you get wifi benefits like hi quality video and downloading apps and podcasts over 10mb on youtube and iTunes (respectively)

2) If you are a youtube user and find yourself in dead-zones frequently, A good one to get is yourtube. It allows you to download videos to your phone for offline viewing.

3) If you're a retro gamer and remember the days of good ol' Galaga and Super Mario Bros, then install NES. It's a NES emulator for the iphone that works pretty decent (for the most part)

4) If you like to tether then get PDANet

5) OpenSSH and iPhoneBrowser (essential for jailbroken iPhones). These tools allow you to browse your iPhone from your computer. OpenSSH allows terminal access to the iPhone (for running commands and moving files) over wifi, and iPhoneBrowser (for windows) lets you browse the user section of the iPhone. I use iPhoneBrowser to put a file on, and then an SSH terminal to move the file into the deeper parts of the phone. A good guide is http://www.iphonepassion.com/2008/03/27/jailbro... This guide is older, and the BSD subsystem thing is obsolete, but everything else is valid

Thats all I can think of at the moment. All of these apps are paid (except OpenSSH and iPhoneBrowser), but add the following repo to Cydia and get them cracked: http://repo.sinfuliphone.com

iPhoneBrowser: http://code.google.com/p/iphonebrowser/download...

Re: I have entered the deep, dark world…

Welcome Steve...have some cake.

Must have apps? I would suggest SBSettings' first of all.
