hi sir, need help. i upgraded my iphone 3g but it's locked and also not covering the local network. It is asking the same sim card on what it was issued. I am using this phone in uae and it was bought in canada a year ago. sim card no more with me and also access to canada is not possible. please suggest me how i can fix the problem.

if i have iPhone 2g with 3.1 firmware, i did tried to jailbreak it with pawnage and it got me cydia but nothing works in it, if i'm jailbreaking it with new firmware will i have it unlocked for any other carrier?
